AI-suggested

A fix is available and has been applied in multiple Linux kernel commits. Users should update to a Linux kernel version that includes these fixes. Since this is a kernel-level issue, applying the official kernel patches or upgrading to a fixed kernel release will remediate the vulnerability.

Description

A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability exists in the Linux kernel bonding driver in the bond_debug_rlb_hash_show function. This occurs because the function accesses a slave pointer without checking if it is NULL, leading to a kernel crash. The issue arises when the RLB hash-table entries have a NULL slave due to no replacement slave being available. The vulnerability has been fixed by adding a NULL check and printing "(none)" for entries without an assigned slave.
