Published: 07/20/2026 (07/20/2026, 16:14:02 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: datacycle-engine
Product: dataCycle-CORE

Description

dataCycle is a data management system for centrally storing, managing, searching, finding, and distributing data. In dataCycle-CORE, the module handling core processing and framework rules, before and including version 25.07.3, a low-privileged authenticated API user can supply `forwardToUrl` and `redirectUrl` values when triggering password reset or confirmation flows. Those values are then embedded into the outgoing email workflow without host allowlisting. This creates two related abuse paths: - password reset or confirmation links can be sent to a victim with the token already attached to an attacker-controlled `forwardToUrl` - after a legitimate password reset completes, the browser is redirected to attacker-controlled `redirectUrl` In practice, this can be used for phishing, token capture, confirmation hijacking, or steering a victim from a trusted email into an attacker domain. This is patched in version 26.06.08.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-32824 is an open redirect vulnerability (CWE-601) in dataCycle-CORE, a data management system. In versions before 26.06.08, low-privileged authenticated API users can specify `forwardToUrl` and `redirectUrl` parameters during password reset or confirmation flows. These URLs are included in outgoing emails without host allowlisting, enabling attackers to craft links that redirect victims to attacker-controlled domains after password reset or confirmation. This can facilitate phishing attacks, token capture, and hijacking of confirmation processes. The vulnerability is patched in version 26.06.08.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows attackers to send password reset or confirmation emails containing links that redirect users to attacker-controlled websites. This can be exploited for phishing, capturing authentication tokens, hijacking confirmation processes, and steering victims from trusted emails to malicious domains. The CVSS score of 7.3 reflects high impact on confidentiality and integrity, with no impact on availability.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in dataCycle-CORE version 26.06.08. Users should upgrade to this version to remediate the vulnerability. Until upgraded, avoid relying on password reset or confirmation links generated by low-privileged API users or implement additional validation and allowlisting of redirect URLs if possible.
