Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-34708 is a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability (CWE-121) affecting Adobe InCopy versions 21.3, 20.5.3, and earlier. Successful exploitation requires a user to open a malicious file, which could lead to arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. The vulnerability has a CVSS 3.1 base score of 7.8, indicating high severity. There is no vendor advisory or patch information currently available, and no known exploits in the wild have been reported.

Potential Impact

If exploited, this vulnerability allows an attacker to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the current user, potentially leading to full compromise of the user's environment. The requirement for user interaction limits exploitation to scenarios where a user opens a malicious file.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a patch is available, users should exercise caution when opening files from untrusted sources and consider restricting access to Adobe InCopy or using application whitelisting to mitigate risk.
