Until a fix is available, network segmentation to restrict access to the router's management interfaces and monitoring for unusual password change attempts may help reduce risk. Avoid exposing the router management interface to untrusted networks.
Description
The Mercusys AC12G (EU) V1 router with firmware AC12G(EU)_V1_200909 is vulnerable to unauthenticated brute-force attacks via its TDDP password change endpoint. This endpoint lacks rate limiting, unlike the login endpoint, allowing an attacker on the adjacent network to attempt unlimited password guesses without triggering account lockout. The vulnerability has a high severity with a CVSS score of 8.8.
