Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-39276 is a path traversal vulnerability (CWE-22) in Emlog Pro v2.6.9's template upload functionality. Authenticated administrators can upload ZIP archives containing directory traversal sequences in filenames, enabling overwriting of default template files or direct inclusion of malicious PHP code in the active template. This results in arbitrary code execution with high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The CVSS v3.1 base score is 7.2 (AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). No patch or official remediation level has been published, and the product is not a cloud service.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows an authenticated administrator to execute arbitrary PHP code on the server by uploading malicious template files. This can lead to full compromise of the affected system, including unauthorized data access, modification, or service disruption. The vulnerability affects confidentiality, integrity, and availability with a high severity rating. No known exploits are currently reported in the wild.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict template upload permissions strictly to trusted administrators and monitor for suspicious activity related to template uploads. Avoid using untrusted ZIP archives for template updates.
