Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-40127 is an authorization bypass vulnerability in OutSystems Lifetime where the ApplicationID parameter is user-controlled. This allows any authenticated user to access Change Log data, including actions performed by other users and application names, which should normally be restricted. The vulnerability is classified under CWE-639 (Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key). The vendor fixed this issue in OutSystems Lifetime version 11.28.2.3955.

Potential Impact

An attacker with valid authentication can read sensitive Change Log information related to other users' actions and application names. This exposure could lead to information disclosure but does not allow privilege escalation or code execution. The impact is limited to unauthorized read access to audit and application metadata.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade OutSystems Lifetime to version 11.28.2.3955 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other remediation or temporary workaround is indicated. Patch status is confirmed by the vendor advisory stating the fix is included in version 11.28.2.3955.
