Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-4058 is a missing authorization vulnerability (CWE-862) in the User Frontend: AI Powered Frontend Posting, User Directory, Profile, Membership & User Registration WordPress plugin by wedevs. The issue arises from the lack of a capability check in the user_subscription_cancel() function, enabling authenticated users with Subscriber-level privileges or above to cancel subscription packs of any user, including administrators. This affects all plugin versions up to and including 4.3.2. The vulnerability does not impact confidentiality or availability but allows unauthorized modification of subscription data.

Potential Impact

An attacker with at least Subscriber-level access can cancel subscription packs belonging to other users, including administrators. This unauthorized modification can disrupt user memberships and potentially affect service access or billing tied to subscriptions. There is no indication of impact on data confidentiality or system availability.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is released, restrict user roles carefully and monitor for unauthorized subscription cancellations. Avoid granting Subscriber-level access to untrusted users. Follow vendor updates for a forthcoming patch or official mitigation.
