A fixed version is available starting from OpenClaw 2026.4.2 that addresses this timing side channel vulnerability. Users should upgrade to version 2026.4.2 or later to remediate this issue. No other mitigation steps are indicated.
Description
OpenClaw versions before 2026.4.2 have a timing side channel vulnerability due to early length-mismatch checks in shared-secret comparisons. This allows attackers to measure timing differences and infer secret-length information, weakening the intended constant-time security for shared secrets. The vulnerability is identified as CWE-208 and has a medium severity with a CVSS score of 6.3.
