AI-suggested
Fixed versions are available and should be applied. The vulnerability is resolved by updates that add the missing .negotiate_features callback to the Hyper-V operations table in the ixgbevf driver. Users should upgrade to Linux kernel versions 6.1.175, 6.6.136, 6.12.83, 6.18, or later as appropriate.
Description
A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability was identified in the Linux kernel's ixgbevf driver on Hyper-V virtual machines. The issue was caused by a missing .negotiate_features callback in the Hyper-V operations table, leading to a kernel crash during device probe. This flaw has been fixed by adding the missing callback that gracefully handles unsupported operations.
