An official patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory from Ubuntu confirms that this issue is fixed in updated kernel packages. Users should update to the patched kernel versions to resolve this issue.

Description

A scheduling while atomic bug in the Linux kernel's mlx5e IPsec MAC address query was fixed by replacing a hardware query call that can sleep with a direct MAC address copy from netdev->dev_addr. This resolves a bug where a sleeping call was made from atomic context, which is unsafe. The issue was present in specific linux-hwe-edge kernel versions and has been addressed in an official patch.
