A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory from Ubuntu confirms that this and multiple other kernel security issues have been fixed in updated kernel releases. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions provided by their distribution.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's RDS networking subsystem involves the reconnect-pending bit not being cleared properly when canceling the reconnect worker. This can cause the bit to remain set indefinitely if the reconnect worker is canceled before it is scheduled. The issue has been addressed in a security update.
