A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory from Ubuntu confirms that this issue is fixed in updated kernel packages. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions as provided by their distribution to mitigate this vulnerability.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's media: rockchip: rga subsystem could lead to a possible invalid pointer dereference. The function rga_get_frame() may return an ERR_PTR(-EINVAL) error for unsupported or invalid buffer types, but rga_buf_init() did not check this return value before dereferencing it. This flaw has been fixed by adding proper error checking to prevent dereferencing invalid pointers.
