AI-suggested
A fix is available that corrects the FIFO read logic in the driver. Users should update to patched kernel versions that include this fix. Specific affected versions include multiple Linux kernel builds (e.g., 4.15.0-1002.2 through 5.3.0-1035.37). No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patch.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's iio accel adxl380 driver could cause the interrupt handler to read more FIFO entries than are actually present. This occurs because the sensor fills the FIFO one sample at a time, but the handler reads in batches based on enabled scan elements, potentially leading to out-of-bounds reads. The issue has been resolved by adjusting the read count to always be a multiple of the number of scan elements.
