A patch is available that adds a reserved-memory carveout for the full Gunyah hypervisor metadata region and marks it as no-map to prevent kernel allocation or mapping of this memory. Users should apply the official kernel updates that include this fix to resolve the issue.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel on arm64 platforms using Qualcomm Monaco hardware causes spurious synchronous external abort exceptions and kernel crashes. This occurs because the kernel accesses hypervisor-owned memory that is not fully reserved in the EFI memory map, leading to fatal aborts. The issue is resolved by reserving the full Gunyah hypervisor metadata region and marking it as no-map to prevent kernel allocation or mapping of this memory area.
