AI-suggested

A fix is available and has been released in updated Linux kernel versions. Users should apply the official kernel updates to remediate this vulnerability. No additional mitigation is required as the issue is resolved by the patch.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Btrfs filesystem causes a transaction abort and switches the filesystem to read-only mode when multiple files with colliding name hashes are created in the same directory. This can be triggered by a local user without administrative privileges, resulting in denial of service. The issue has been fixed in updated Linux kernel versions.
