A patch is available that enforces a maximum timeout limit of 60 seconds on unkillable synchronous USB message timeouts. Systems should apply the official Linux kernel updates that include this fix. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the patch.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel USB core allowed unkillable synchronous timeouts with unlimited duration in usb_control_msg(), usb_bulk_msg(), and usb_interrupt_msg() APIs. This could cause tasks to hang indefinitely with no way to kill them except unplugging the device. The issue has been resolved by enforcing a maximum timeout limit of 60 seconds and clarifying timeout value handling.
