An official fix is available and should be applied. The vulnerability has been resolved in updated Linux kernel versions as per the vendor advisory. Users should upgrade to patched kernel versions to remediate this issue.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's netfilter component (nfnetlink_cthelper) causes an out-of-bounds (OOB) read due to improper bounds checking in the nfnl_cthelper_dump_table() function. This occurs when a 'goto restart' statement jumps inside a for loop after the last helper is deleted, bypassing the bounds check and reading 8 bytes beyond the allocated array. The issue has been fixed by moving the restart block inside the loop to ensure proper bounds enforcement.
