AI-suggested

Users should upgrade to OpenClaw version 2026.4.9 or later once available, as the vulnerability affects versions before 2026.4.9. If you cannot patch yet, avoid using untrusted workspace .env files and restrict access to environment configuration files to trusted users only. Monitor vendor advisories for official remediation updates.

Description

OpenClaw versions before 2026.4.9 have an environment variable injection vulnerability that allows malicious workspace .env files to set runtime-control variables. This can enable attackers to manipulate update sources, gateway URLs, ClawHub resolution, and browser executable paths, potentially compromising application behavior.
