AI-suggested

Apply the official patch by upgrading to FOSSBilling version 0.8.0 or later. Until patched, administrators can mitigate the risk by disabling client self-registration (Settings → Clients → Disable signup) or by removing group restrictions from promo codes. These workarounds prevent attackers from exploiting the mass assignment vulnerability to gain unauthorized discounts.

Description

FOSSBilling versions prior to 0.8.0 contain a mass assignment vulnerability in the client self-registration endpoint that allows unauthenticated users to assign themselves to arbitrary client groups. This can enable attackers to bypass group restrictions on promo codes and obtain unauthorized discounts. The issue is fixed in version 0.8.0. Administrators can mitigate the risk by disabling client self-registration or removing group restrictions from promo codes.
