AI-suggested

An official fix is available and should be applied by updating to patched Linux kernel versions. The vulnerability is addressed by rejecting negative CO-RE accessor indices during parsing. Users should upgrade to the fixed kernel versions listed by their distribution vendors. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official patch.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's BPF CO-RE accessor parsing allows negative indices to bypass bounds checks, causing out-of-bounds reads and kernel crashes. This affects systems with CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO_BTF enabled and can be triggered by a crafted BPF program with CAP_BPF privileges. The issue has been fixed in updated kernel versions.
