A patch is available and should be applied. Ubuntu and other Linux distributions have released updated kernel packages that address this issue. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions as provided by their vendor. No additional mitigation is indicated by the vendor advisory.

Description

A null pointer dereference vulnerability in the Linux kernel's scsi: csiostor driver was fixed. The issue occurred when the error exit path dereferenced a null pointer via the CSIO_INC_STATS macro. This flaw could cause a denial of service by crashing the kernel. Multiple Linux kernel versions are affected. A patch is available and has been released by vendors including Ubuntu.
