AI-suggested

This vulnerability has been fixed in multiple Linux kernel versions, including 5.10.252, 5.15.202, 6.1.165, 4.20, 5.5, and 6.2. Users and administrators should update to these fixed versions or later to remediate the issue. No additional mitigation actions are indicated.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's netfilter nft_set_rbtree component allowed partial overlaps in anonymous sets to go undetected. This flaw involved the logic that checks for overlapping intervals in optimized representations of sets, potentially permitting overlapping intervals that should have been flagged. The issue has been fixed by restoring the check on overlapping start elements to properly detect overlaps.
