An official fix is available and should be applied. The vulnerability has been resolved in updated Linux kernel versions as per the Ubuntu security advisory USN-8492-1. Users should update to the patched kernel versions to mitigate this issue.
Description
A race condition vulnerability in the Linux kernel's RDMA mlx5 driver causes the driver to hang indefinitely during device unload in LAG mode when a firmware reset occurs. This happens because the bond device does not receive error events from slave devices, leading to indefinite waits for UMR completions. The issue has been fixed by adding a sys_error notifier to ensure error events are properly propagated during teardown.
