An official patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory confirms that the issue has been fixed in updated kernel releases. Users should update their Linux kernel to the patched versions provided by their distribution vendors. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official fix.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's RxRPC networking subsystem was fixed to address improper handling of shared socket buffer fragments during packet processing. The flaw caused decrypted RESPONSE packets to be visible in a corrupted form to packet sniffers due to in-place decryption on shared buffers. This issue was resolved by ensuring a copy of the packet is passed to the security handler when the packet is cloned. The vulnerability has a medium severity with a CVSS score of 5.5 and affects specific Linux kernel versions. A patch is available from the vendor.
