A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions to resolve this issue. The vendor advisory confirms that this vulnerability has been fixed. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions as provided by their Linux distribution.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's microchip-core-qspi SPI driver was fixed to prevent attempts to transmit data during emulated read-only dual/quad SPI operations. Transmitting data in this scenario can disrupt the transfer because QSPI lacks a dedicated master-out line, potentially causing the transfer to fail. This issue has been addressed in updated Linux kernel releases.
