AI-suggested
A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory confirms that this issue has been fixed. Systems should be updated to a fixed kernel version to prevent early boot crashes caused by malformed huge page parameters.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's huge page parameter parsing could cause an early boot crash if hugepages, hugepagesz, or default_hugepagesz are specified on the kernel command line without an '=' separator. This leads to a NULL pointer dereference in hugetlb_add_param(). The issue has been fixed by rejecting NULL values and returning an error instead.
