An official fix is available and has been released in updated Linux kernel versions. Users should apply the vendor-provided kernel updates to remediate this issue. No additional mitigation is required as the patch rejects empty multisync extensions to prevent the infinite loop.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's drm/v3d component allows a local user to cause an infinite loop in kernel context by providing an empty multisync extension with zero in_sync_count and out_sync_count. This flaw leads to a CPU core being pegged indefinitely and blocks the calling thread. The issue is fixed by rejecting multisync extensions where both counts are zero.
