A fix is available that moves the suspended state check to after acquiring the live table lock, preventing the race condition. Users should apply the updated Linux kernel versions that include this fix. No additional mitigation steps are specified.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's device mapper (dm) subsystem was fixed by correcting the timing of a suspended state check. The function dm_blk_report_zones previously checked if the device was suspended without holding locks, allowing a race condition where the device state could change immediately after the check. The fix moves the suspended state check to after acquiring a live table lock, preventing this race condition.
