AI-suggested

An official patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory from Ubuntu confirms that this issue is fixed in updated kernel releases. Users should update their Linux kernel packages to the fixed versions as provided by their distribution. No additional mitigations are indicated by the vendor advisory.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's greybus gb-beagleplay bootloader receive buffering was resolved. The issue involved improper handling of receive buffer space in the cc1352_bootloader_rx() function, which could lead to buffer overflow by appending data chunks without adequate size checks. The flaw was fixed by ensuring incoming data fits in the remaining buffer space before copying, dropping excess data to prevent overflow.
