CVE-2026-46346: CWE-330: Use of Insufficiently Random Values in intranda goobi-viewer-core
Description
A vulnerability in intranda goobi-viewer-core prior to version 26.05 allows an attacker to predict password reset tokens because they are based on the time of the reset request. This enables an attacker who knows a user's email address to brute-force the token and forcibly reset the user's password without authorization. The issue has been fixed in version 26.05.

Technical Analysis
The Goobi viewer web application had a security flaw where the password reset token was generated using insufficiently random values, specifically predictable timing information. This weakness (CWE-330) allowed attackers to brute-force the reset token if they knew the target's email address, resulting in unauthorized password resets. The vulnerability affects versions prior to 26.05 and has been patched in version 26.05.
Potential Impact
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows an attacker to perform unauthorized password resets on any account by brute-forcing the predictable reset token. This leads to loss of account integrity and availability, but does not directly disclose account contents (no confidentiality impact). The CVSS score is 6.5 (medium severity), reflecting network attack vector, low attack complexity, no privileges required, no user interaction, and impact on integrity and availability.
Mitigation Recommendations
Upgrade to intranda goobi-viewer-core version 26.05 or later, where the password reset token generation has been fixed to use sufficiently random values. No other mitigation is required as the issue is resolved in this official patch.
