VulnerabilityCVE-2026-46635cvecve-2026-46635cwe-863
Published: 07/14/2026 (07/14/2026, 21:12:56 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: twigphp
Product: Twig

Description

Twig versions prior to 3.26.0 contain an incorrect authorization vulnerability where the column filter passes object arrays to PHP's array_column() function. This allows reading of public and magic properties without sandbox checks, enabling an untrusted template author with column in allowedFilters to access properties outside the sandbox allowlist. The issue is fixed in version 3.26.0.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-46635 is an authorization vulnerability in twigphp's Twig template engine affecting versions before 3.26.0. The vulnerability arises because the column filter uses PHP's array_column() on object arrays, which accesses public and magic properties directly without invoking CoreExtension::getAttribute() or SandboxExtension::checkPropertyAllowed(). This bypasses sandbox property allowlist checks, allowing an untrusted template author with column in allowedFilters to read unauthorized object properties. The vulnerability is addressed in Twig version 3.26.0.

Potential Impact

An untrusted template author with column in allowedFilters can read object properties that should be restricted by the sandbox allowlist, potentially exposing sensitive data. This is a medium severity issue with a CVSS 4.0 base score of 5.3, indicating limited but meaningful unauthorized information disclosure risk.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade Twig to version 3.26.0 or later, where this authorization issue is fixed. No other mitigation or temporary workaround is indicated.
