Technical Analysis

This vulnerability (CWE-369) exists in the kernel mode layer of NVIDIA GeForce GPU Display Drivers on Windows and Linux platforms. An attacker with local access and low privileges could cause a divide-by-zero condition, leading to a denial of service. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 5.5, reflecting local attack vector, low complexity, no user interaction, and impact limited to availability. There is no indication of confidentiality or integrity impact. No known exploits or patches are currently documented.

Potential Impact

Exploitation results in denial of service by causing the GPU driver or system to crash. There is no impact on confidentiality or integrity. The attacker requires local access with low privileges to trigger the vulnerability.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict local access to trusted users and monitor for unusual system crashes related to the GPU driver.
