Technical Analysis

This vulnerability (CVE-2026-47565) exists in the NVIDIA GeForce GPU Display Driver for Linux within the kernel mode layer. A race condition caused by improper synchronization of shared resources can be triggered by a privileged user, leading to an out-of-bounds write. The consequences of successful exploitation include potential code execution, denial of service, escalation of privileges, information disclosure, and data tampering. The CVSS v3.1 base score is 6.4 with vector AV:L/AC:H/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H. No vendor advisory or patch information is currently available.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation of this race condition vulnerability could allow a privileged user to execute arbitrary code, cause denial of service, escalate privileges, disclose sensitive information, or tamper with data on affected systems running the NVIDIA GeForce GPU Display Driver for Linux.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, limit access to privileged accounts and monitor for unusual activity related to GPU driver usage.
