Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: LMS Community
Product: Lyrion Music Server

Description

Lyrion Music Server version 9. 2. 0 contains a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability. This flaw allows attackers to inject malicious scripts via media file metadata tags such as GENRE, ARTIST, and ALBUM. When users view track information or play these crafted files, the malicious scripts execute within the web interface. Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-50232 is a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in LMS Community's Lyrion Music Server version 9.2.0. The vulnerability arises from improper neutralization of input during web page generation, specifically in media file metadata tags (GENRE, ARTIST, ALBUM). Attackers can embed XSS payloads in these tags, which execute in the web interface when users interact with the affected media files. This execution can expose management functions and sensitive settings to attackers. The CVSS 4.0 base score is 5.1, indicating a medium severity. No official patch or vendor remediation information is currently available, and the product is not a cloud service.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows attackers to execute arbitrary scripts in the context of the web interface, potentially leading to unauthorized access to management functions and disclosure of sensitive settings. This could compromise the integrity and confidentiality of the system's management interface. However, there are no reports of active exploitation in the wild.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, users should exercise caution when importing or playing media files from untrusted sources to avoid triggering the XSS vulnerability. Monitoring vendor communications for updates is recommended.
