Technical Analysis

This vulnerability exists in reportico-web <= 8.1.0 and involves improper validation of the target_format parameter in the run.php endpoint when used with execute_mode=EXECUTE. An attacker can specify arbitrary filenames, enabling directory traversal to access or execute PHP files on the server remotely.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code on the web server, potentially leading to full compromise of the affected system or exposure of sensitive files.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict access to the run.php endpoint and validate input parameters to prevent exploitation.
