CVE-2026-52730: CWE-862: Missing Authorization in xibosignage xibo-cms
Description
Xibo is an open source digital signage platform with a web content management system and Windows display player software. Prior to 4.4.3, missing Authorization in Module::settingsForm allows to view (not change) super admin-restricted module settings and leak the full module entity. Exploitation of the vulnerability is possible on behalf of an authorized user who has access to the Module View feature, which are not granted to non-admins as standard. Users should upgrade to version 4.4.3 which fixes this issue. Upgrading to a fixed version is necessary to remediate. Users unable to upgrade should revoke such privileges from users they do not trust.

Technical Analysis
Xibo-cms versions before 4.4.3 have a missing authorization vulnerability (CWE-862) in the Module::settingsForm component. This flaw permits users who have Module View privileges—typically not granted to non-admin users—to view module settings restricted to super admins, resulting in information disclosure of the full module entity. The vulnerability does not allow modification of settings. The issue is resolved in version 4.4.3.
Potential Impact
An authorized user with Module View privileges can view super admin-restricted module settings and access full module entity data, leading to information disclosure. There is no impact on integrity or availability, and no unauthorized privilege escalation or remote exploitation without prior access.
Mitigation Recommendations
Upgrade xibo-cms to version 4.4.3 or later, which contains the fix for this vulnerability. If upgrading is not immediately possible, revoke Module View privileges from users who are not fully trusted to prevent exploitation.
