AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been released in Linux kernel versions 7.0.0-28.28~24.04.1, 7.0.0-1016.16~24.04.1, and related fixed versions. Users should update to these fixed kernel versions to remediate the issue. No additional mitigation actions are required beyond applying the official kernel updates.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's f2fs file system was resolved that prevented reading pages already updated during garbage collection (GC). The issue was discovered during fuzz testing and could cause kernel bugs due to redundant I/O operations on pages marked as up-to-date. This flaw was addressed by avoiding unnecessary reads of pages that have already been updated, preventing potential kernel crashes.
