An official patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The patch correctly handles unsupported TPM hash algorithms by creating distinct securityfs files, preventing out-of-bounds memory access. Systems running affected kernel versions should upgrade to a fixed release as listed in the affectedVersions. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official fix.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's IMA filesystem (ima_fs) was fixed to correctly handle securityfs files for unsupported TPM hash algorithms. The issue involved out-of-bounds reads caused by accessing an invalid hash algorithm index when the TPM chip reported support for an algorithm (e.g., sha3_256) not yet recognized by the kernel. This could lead to a kernel memory access error. The fix creates distinct securityfs file names for unsupported algorithms to prevent invalid memory access.
