AI-suggested
A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions as listed. Users should update to fixed kernel versions at or beyond 6.8.0-136.136, 6.8.0-1064.72, and 6.8.0-1059.67, or other fixed releases provided by their distribution. The vendor advisory from Ubuntu confirms that this issue is resolved in updated kernel packages. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ASoC qcom qdsp6 topology component was resolved by adding a check on the widget type before accessing private data. Without this check, virtual widgets not associated with a DSP graph, container, or module could be accessed incorrectly, potentially leading to improper memory access. This issue affects specific versions of the linux-hwe-edge kernel and has been addressed in updated releases.
