AI-suggested
A fix is available and has been released in Linux kernel versions 6.8.0-1064.67~22.04.1 and later. Users and administrators should update to these fixed kernel versions to remediate the vulnerability. No additional mitigation actions are indicated by the vendor advisory.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's vsock/virtio subsystem allowed a potential unbounded skb queue due to improper handling of packets with zero length and the VIRTIO_VSOCK_SEQ_EOM flag. This could lead to excessive queuing of packets, causing a denial of service. The issue has been fixed by adjusting the skb metadata size estimation to prevent unbounded queue growth. Multiple affected versions have been identified and fixed in Linux kernel versions 6.8.0-1064.67~22.04.1 and later.
