AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been applied in Linux kernel versions 5.15.0-1117.124~20.04.1 and later. Users should upgrade to these or newer fixed kernel versions to remediate this vulnerability. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net/802/mrp subsystem related to vector attribute parsing in mrp_pdu_parse_vecattr has been resolved. The flaw involved incorrect handling of event counts and attribute offsets during parsing, which could corrupt the parsing state. This issue was fixed by correcting decrement logic, skipping inappropriate value consumption, and properly incrementing attribute values. The vulnerability affects certain Linux kernel versions and has been addressed in later fixed releases.
