AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been released in Linux kernel versions 5.15.0-1112.118~20.04.1 and later. Users should update to these fixed versions or later to remediate this vulnerability. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.
Description
A race condition vulnerability in the Linux kernel's device mapper cache policy SMQ was resolved by moving an allocation check under a lock to prevent concurrent invalidators from corrupting internal data structures. This flaw could lead to corruption of SMQ queues or hash tables and double freeing of entries. The issue affects specific Linux kernel versions and has been fixed in later releases.
