AI-suggested
A patch is available and should be applied. The vulnerability is fixed in linux-aws kernel versions 6.8.0-1066.69~22.04.1 and later as listed in the established fixed versions. Users should update to these or later kernel versions to remediate this issue. No additional mitigations are indicated by the vendor advisory.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's netfilter nft_ct subsystem allowed improper handling of template connection tracking (ct) objects during evaluation, leading to a stack overflow or memory corruption. This was triggered by specific nftables rules that caused a 16-byte memcpy overflow on the kernel stack. The issue has been fixed in updated Linux kernel versions for the linux-aws package.
