A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The fix properly frees the allocated workqueue and corrects the removal order to prevent memory leaks and use-after-free conditions. Users should update to fixed kernel versions as provided by their Linux distribution vendors. No additional mitigations are indicated or required.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's power supply driver for max77705 was fixed by properly freeing allocated workqueues and correcting the removal order. The flaw involved a memory leak on driver removal and a use-after-free condition due to improper ordering of workqueue destruction and interrupt freeing. This could lead to use of freed memory if an interrupt occurred after the workqueue was destroyed but before the interrupt was freed. The fix uses the devm interface correctly and updates the workqueue API to avoid legacy flags.
