AI-suggested

A patch is available and has been released in Linux kernel versions 7.0.0-28.28 and later. Users and administrators should apply these updates promptly to mitigate the risk of system crashes caused by this vulnerability. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official fix.

Description

A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability was identified in the Linux kernel's AMD display driver (drm/amd/display) that could cause a system crash. This occurs due to improper NULL checks in error handling paths leading to a dereference of a NULL pointer in the logging function. The issue affects multiple Linux kernel versions prior to 7.0.0-28.28 and related builds. The vulnerability has been fixed in versions 7.0.0-28.28 and later. A patch is available and should be applied to prevent system crashes caused by this flaw.
