AI-suggested

A patch is available and has been released in linux-hwe-edge kernel versions 7.0.0-31.31 and later. Users should upgrade to these fixed versions to remediate the issue. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official fix.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel debugobjects subsystem was resolved that prevented calling fill_pool() during early boot hard interrupt context on ARM64 systems running debug PREEMPT_RT kernels. This flaw could cause a deadlock due to lockdep warnings when interrupts fire before the scheduler is enabled and attempt to allocate memory in hard interrupt context. The issue was fixed by adding a helper to prevent pool filling in this context and reordering exception rules. The vulnerability affects specific Linux kernel versions and has been addressed in fixed releases starting with version 7.0.0-31.31 and later.
