AI-suggested

A patch is available and users should upgrade to one of the fixed Linux kernel versions listed (e.g., 6.8.0-1052.56 or later). The vendor advisory confirms that this issue has been resolved in these fixed releases. No additional mitigations are required beyond applying the official kernel updates.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's debugobjects subsystem was resolved that could cause an assertion failure on real-time (RT) enabled kernels. The issue occurs because fill_pool() calls rtlock_lock() even when current::pi_blocked_on is set, which violates the assumption that a task can only block on one lock, potentially corrupting the priority inheritance chain. This flaw was fixed by expanding the conditional to consider current::pi_blocked_on. The vulnerability affects specific linux-hwe-edge kernel versions and has been addressed in later fixed releases.
