AI-suggested

A patch is available and included in Linux kernel versions 7.0.0-31.31 and later. Users should upgrade to these fixed versions to remediate the issue. No additional mitigation is required as the fix addresses the root cause by handling allocation failures properly.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's DAMON_RECLAIM and DAMON_LRU_SORT subsystems could cause a NULL pointer dereference if the damon_ctx object allocation fails. This flaw is rare due to the small allocation size but can lead to denial of service by crashing the kernel. The issue has been fixed in Linux kernel versions 7.0.0-31.31 and later.
