AI-suggested
A patch is available and the vulnerability has been fixed in linux-hwe-edge kernel versions 5.15.0-1117.124~20.04.1 and later. Users should upgrade to these fixed kernel versions to remediate the issue. No additional mitigation is required as the fix addresses the root cause.
Description
A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in the Qualcomm CCI I2C controller driver in the Linux kernel was fixed. The issue occurs during device unbinding or driver removal when only one of two I2C masters is initialized, causing cci_remove() to dereference a NULL pointer. This leads to a kernel crash. The vulnerability affects specific linux-hwe-edge kernel versions and has been resolved in later fixed releases.
