AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been released in linux-aws kernel versions 5.15.0-1068.70~20.04.1 and later, including 6.8.0-1065.68~22.04.1. Users should upgrade to these fixed versions or later to remediate the vulnerability. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official kernel updates.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's RDS InfiniBand (IB) connection teardown path was resolved. The flaw involved improper clearing of the i_sends pointer during error handling in rds_ib_setup_qp(), which could lead to use of stale pointers during shutdown. This could cause incorrect resource ownership state handling. The issue affects specific linux-aws kernel versions and has been fixed in later kernel releases.
